Comment Policy

FH Tech Farm is a place for people who enjoy technology, computers, hardware, software, gaming, and related topics to share ideas, ask questions, and have conversations.

We welcome different opinions and encourage healthy debate. You do not have to agree with another commenter—or with us—to participate. We simply ask that you keep the conversation useful, respectful, and focused on the topic.

Keep It Civil

Disagreement is welcome. Personal attacks are not.

Please do not use the comments to:

  • Harass, threaten, intimidate, or personally attack another person.
  • Make hateful or discriminatory comments directed at an individual or group.
  • Bully or repeatedly target another commenter.
  • Impersonate another person, company, or organization.
  • Encourage violence or other unlawful activity.
  • Deliberately provoke or disrupt discussions.

Criticize an idea, product, company, or argument if you want. Just keep the criticism focused on the subject rather than the person.

Stay On Topic

Comments should generally relate to the article or the discussion taking place.

For example, if an article is about a graphics card, comments about competing GPUs, drivers, benchmarks, pricing, or related hardware are welcome. Completely unrelated promotional material or repeated off-topic posts may be removed.

No Spam or Unwanted Promotion

Please don’t use FH Tech Farm comments primarily to advertise products, services, websites, social-media accounts, affiliate links, or other commercial interests.

We may remove:

  • Repeated or automated comments.
  • Promotional comments unrelated to the discussion.
  • Excessive links.
  • SEO or link-building spam.
  • Referral or affiliate spam.
  • Comments posted primarily to drive traffic somewhere else.

A relevant link that genuinely helps answer a question or contributes to a discussion is generally welcome, but we reserve the right to remove links that appear promotional, misleading, unsafe, or excessive.

No Malicious or Dangerous Content

Do not use the comments to distribute malware, malicious code, scams, phishing links, or instructions intended to harm other people or their systems.

Do not post content that violates applicable laws or the rights of others, including copyright and trademark rights.

Protect Your Privacy

Please don’t post personal information about yourself or anyone else.

This includes things such as:

  • Home addresses
  • Phone numbers
  • Private email addresses
  • Passwords or authentication information
  • Financial information
  • Private account information
  • Other information that could be used to identify, locate, or compromise someone

Remember that comments are public. Think carefully before sharing information about yourself.

Accuracy and Misinformation

We encourage people to share their experiences and opinions, including opinions that differ from ours.

However, comments should not intentionally promote harmful false information, scams, or deliberately deceptive claims.

If you’re making a technical claim, providing a solution, or sharing information that others may rely upon, please make a reasonable effort to ensure that the information is accurate.

Nobody gets everything right. Honest mistakes are different from deliberately misleading people.

Respect Copyright

Only post material that you have the right to share.

Don’t copy and paste substantial portions of someone else’s copyrighted work into a comment. When referring to another source, provide a link or brief quotation where appropriate.

Moderation

FH Tech Farm reserves the right to remove, edit, or restrict comments that violate this policy or that we otherwise determine are harmful to the discussion or community.

Depending on the situation, we may:

  • Remove a comment.
  • Place a comment in moderation for review.
  • Restrict or suspend a user’s ability to comment.
  • Report content to Disqus or another appropriate service.
  • Take other reasonable action to protect the community and the site.

We may moderate comments using Disqus’s moderation and spam-filtering tools. Some comments may therefore be held for review automatically before appearing publicly.

Disqus provides moderation tools to publishers, but FH Tech Farm is responsible for moderating the discussions on this site.

We don’t have to agree with a comment to allow it. Our goal is to remove comments because of their behavior or content—not simply because we disagree with the opinion being expressed.

Reporting a Problem

If you see a comment that violates this policy, please use the reporting/flagging features provided by Disqus or contact FH Tech Farm through the site’s contact page.

When reporting a comment, please explain what you believe violates the policy. This helps us make an informed moderation decision.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Comment Policy from time to time as FH Tech Farm and its community develop. The current version will always be posted on this page.

One Simple Rule

Be respectful, stay reasonably on topic, contribute something useful, and don’t use the comments to hurt, scam, spam, or harass other people.

That’s really what we’re looking for.
